Bio

Born in Jackson and raised in Pinedale, Kelly Ravner first came to live in Jackson in 1985.  She has also lived in Minnesota, Norway, Colorado and Montana, but found it difficult to forget paradise.  She kept looping back to Jackson, and returned to stay in 1996.  Like many people who have come to live in resort towns at a young age, she has held a wide variety of jobs - including wild land firefighter, ski and kayak instructor, certified nursing assistant, switchboard operator, lift ticket seller, and professional towel folder in a commercial laundry.  She also spent three very interesting and challenging years working in the natural gas fields south of Pinedale.  Somewhere in there she also qualified for the US whitewater kayak team in freestyle, and placed 5th at the Pre-World Championships (the highest level of competition that year) in 1994 in Augsburg, Germany.

She attended Carleton College in Northfield, MN where she came dangerously close to completing a degree in Norwegian Language and Literature.  She became interested in the healing arts in the usual way - injured in a horse accident at age 21, she spent years seeking
treatment that would repair the damage to her neck and back, and enrolled in her first massage therapy class in 1993.

She went on to study Cranio-Sacral Therapy through both the Upledger and Milne Institutes, Reiki, Koryo Hand Therapy (a Korean style of acupuncture in which all the needles are placed in the hands) and then Bowen Therapy.  She found Bowen in 1997 and realized it was the bodywork she had been seeking.
She first studied the Bowtech style through the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia, and then NST style through the International Institute of Applied Health Services.

She resides in Jackson with Rabbit the wonder dog, in a small log cabin she and her father built together.  She enjoys doing multi-day river trips in her kayak, squirt boating, canyoneering, climbing and snowboarding.  Rabbit enjoys catching snowballs and splashes of water, and keeping the squirrels in their trees.
